Some shadows ask a question before they answer it. Pressed flat against the underside of a sunlit leaf, a tree frog turns into pure silhouette — all limbs and unlikely angles, glowing veins standing in for a skeleton. For a beat the shape reads as something else entirely before your eyes settle and it resolves into exactly what it is: one frog, caught in the world's most dramatic backlight.
