This shell comes with its own surveillance system. A sea snail's two eyestalks rise from the glossy lip of its shell like a pair of periscopes on patrol, each capped with a strikingly banded orange-and-black eye. The set moves in for a closer look — first the wary double take, then the fleshy green face between them, and finally one eye alone, its ringed iris glowing like a tiny planet.
