False Face
This beetle didn't need a face — it grew two eyes and borrowed the rest. Perched on six spiny legs, this beetle carries an entire face across its back: two wide, white-rimmed eyespots glare out from a mask of burnt orange and ink-black, the exact trick moths use to startle hungry birds. Below the borrowed stare, its shell dissolves into green, leaf-veined camouflage, as if two very different insects agreed to share one body.
