Green With Envy
Five birds, five very different ideas of how green is enough. Ali Ghazizadeh lines up a family of iridescent songbirds by degree of emerald — from a dull olive sheen to full glowing green — then pulls in close on each face alone: one wears a swept-back leaf-shaped crest, another a triangular fin of green rising off a jet-black crown, a third what looks like a beaded turquoise mask around each eye. Same species, wildly different dress code.
