Seventeen tiny troublemakers, seventeen very different opinions about being photographed. A run of studio portraits starring some of the smallest, most vividly colored snakes around — a blush-pink hatchling glowing against black, a citrus-yellow viper baring its fangs, a jewel-green vine snake tangled in loops, and a ring-necked snake flashing its warning-red tail. Coiled, hissing or simply staring back, each one is caught mid-personality, camera-ready despite its size.
