Even a two-thousand-pound bison can't out-stubborn a blizzard. An American bison stands its ground through a whiteout, its shaggy coat frozen solid into ridges of rime that swallow the horns and half its face. The camera pushes in until only one dark eye remains visible under the crust of frost, then pulls back to a wide, empty field where the same animal — small now, and alone — plods forward through the snow, leaving a single trail behind it.
