Under Her Wing

Some nests are made of feathers instead of straw. A white hen settles low into the meadow grass, loosening her wings just enough to make room, and a single yellow chick disappears into the gap beak-first. Across the sequence the chick surfaces for a peek and vanishes again, burrowed deeper each time, while the hen keeps her red comb raised and watchful over the clover around them.
