Every one of them still has the yolk attached. Twelve creatures — a corn snake, a leopard gecko, a veiled chameleon, a green iguana, a flamingo chick, an axolotl, a kiwi, an alligator, a sea turtle and more — appear coiled exactly as they were the moment before hatching, eyes shut, limbs tucked, still tethered to a glowing yolk sac. Ordinary biology rendered as quiet, uncanny portraiture.
